HOME
While Detroit techno might have conquered the European continent by way of the British Isles, Berlin has always been the European city with the closest ties to the home town of techno music. Where the fall of the Berlin wall opened up areas formerly off-limits, Berlin's feverish party scene moved in, giving a home to the city's legendary clubs like Tresor, Planet, E-Werk, WMF or Ostgut (now Berghain/Panoramabar), providing the fertile ground to become the world's capital in electronic music - at least as long as the 4/4 variant of dance beats is concerned.
